Mr.<\/em><\/strong> Ryan Zinke<\/strong><\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Is Mr. Ryan Zinke the conservative that he purports to be? Many of the conservative folks that we spoke to are questioning his loyalty to the conservative base here in Montana. How does Mr. Zinke rate as a conservative candidate to represent Montana? Let’s take a look at a snapshot recorded by “Freedom Works”<\/a><\/strong><\/em> which tracks legislators at many levels and how they vote. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mr. Zinke as an elected official was last scored in 2017 according to Montanans For Limited Government<\/a><\/em><\/strong>. The switch from elected official to an appointment to serve President Trump placed a different twist on public knowledge and participation of his actions. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Below we can take a closer look at how Mr. Zinke voted for the people of Montana. This information was put together by Freedom Works, and shared by Montanan’s for Limited Government. Some may wish to take this out of context but it is information that needs to be documented and shared with the voters of Montana. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. The REINS ACT<\/a>: This bill prohibits the federal government from using reverse auctions for complex, specialized, or substantial design and construction services. Reverse auctions allow the sellers to bid down the price of a project and typically result in the contractor with the lowest bid winning the contract. Mr. Zinke Vote Yes because this sweetheart deal was made between special interest groups working on control of government expenditures. <\/strong><\/li>
  2. The Regulatory Accountability ACT<\/a>: Prohibits discrimination based on sex, sexual orientation, and gender identity in areas including public accommodations and facilities, education, federal funding, employment, housing, credit, and the jury system. Specifically, the bill defines and includes sex, sexual orientation, and gender identity <\/strong><\/em>among the prohibited categories of discrimination or segregation. It also expands the definition of public accommodations to include places or establishments that provide (1) exhibitions, recreation, exercise, amusement, gatherings, or displays; (2) goods, services, or programs; and (3) transportation services. HR5 allows the Department of Justice to intervene in equal protection actions in federal court on account of sexual orientation or gender identity. (Separation of Powers comes into question.) Prohibits an individual from being denied access to a shared facility, including a restroom, a locker room, and a dressing room, that is in accordance with the individual’s gender identity. Mr Zinke Failed To Vote as The Voice Of The People Of Montana.<\/strong><\/strong><\/li>
  3. <\/strong>H.J. 41Resolution of Disapproval<\/a> Against the SEC’s Disclosure of Payments by Resource Extraction Issuers. Act of Congress to suspend, terminate, or withdraw the United States from the North Atlantic Treaty<\/strong> and authorizing related litigation, and for other purposes. Again, Mr Zinke Failed To Vote as The Voice Of The People Of Montana.<\/strong><\/li>
  4. HJ38 Resolution of Disapproval: A joint resolution that nullifies the Stream Protection Rule finalized by the Department of the Interior’s Office of Surface Mining Reclamation and Enforcement on December 20, 2016. The rule addresses the impacts of surface coal mining operations on surface water, groundwater, and the productivity of mining operation sites.. Once more, Mr Zinke Failed To Vote as The Voice Of The People Of Montana<\/strong>.<\/li>
  5. HJ37 On Federal Acquisition<\/a>: Nullifies the rule finalized by the Department of Defense, the General Services Administration, and the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) on August 25, 2016, relating to revising the Federal Acquisition Regulation to implement Executive Order 13673 concerning contractor compliance with labor laws. Again Sweetheart Deals before Congress. Again, Mr Zinke Failed To Vote as The Voice Of The People Of Montana<\/strong>.<\/li>
  6. HJ36 Resolution of Disapproval: Nullifies the rule submitted by the Bureau of Land Management titled “Waste Prevention, Production Subject to Royalties, and Resource Conservation.” The rule published in the Federal Register on November 18, 2016, addresses waste generated during oil and gas production.Against the Bureau of Land Management\u2019s Prevention, Production Subject to Royalties, and Resource Conservation Rule. Mr Zinke Failed To Vote as The Voice Of The People Of Montana<\/strong>.<\/li>
  7. HJR57 Disapproval Against DOE Accountability<\/a>: Taking the federal government out of education, Nullifies the rule finalized by the Department of Education on November 29, 2016, relating to accountability and state plans under the Elementary and Secondary Education Act of 1965. Mr Zinke Failed To Vote as The Voice Of The People Of Montanans.<\/strong><\/li>
  8. Probation Officer Protection Act – H.R. 1039<\/a> (Sec. 2) This bill amends the federal criminal code to authorize a probation officer to arrest a person (i.e., a person other than the probationer) without a warrant if there is probable cause to believe the person forcibly assaulted or obstructed a probation officer engaged in the performance of official duties. Mr. Zinke Declared Ineligible to Vote<\/strong><\/li>
  9. Other pieces of legislation rendered the voice of the people moot. under Mr. Zinke.: Amendments to specific legislation including but not limited to: HJ111<\/a>, HR3219<\/a> HR458<\/a>, HR3354<\/a>. <\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    The responsibility to the people of Montana, rated by Freedom Works, shows a trend in Congress, with a high score of 74% and a low score of 62%, where Mr. Zinke had a seat in the house on behalf of the people of Montana.<\/strong><\/em> Mr. Zinke’s score is not certain as he resigned<\/strong><\/em> to accept an appointment from President Trump.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Heritage Action.com <\/a> also scored Mr. Zinke’s service to the people of Montana as a United States Representative and averaged only a 64%<\/em><\/strong> score for the people of Montana. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Club For Growth<\/a> also scored Mr. Zinke with a 64%<\/em><\/strong> score on behalf of the people of Montana. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
