As seen from left to Right: Richard Donofrio being sworn in as the new 2nd Vice Commander, Larry Westfall as the new Chaplain, Chris Wright as the new Commander led by Bill Garwood, Sergeant at Arms to take their oaths of office administered by Sharon Doig.

On Monday, June 7th at the American Legion monthly meeting, new officers were sworn into their elected positions. Jen Dalrymple who has been the Commander for the past 4 years expressed her gratitude to the Post and encouraged members to support the new Commander Chris Wright taking office in her Commander’s call in the Summer’s quarterly Newsletter. She added thoughts on the new banquet hall and her excitement for what is to come for the Legion and the community. Roland Heating was sworn in as Vice Commander, Craig Hemsworth as Adjutant, returning Finance Officer Richard Heida and returning Sergeant at Arms Officer Bill Garwood.

I want to express my congratulations to Chris Wright Jr for his successful election as our new Post Commander. I ask that you support him as wonderfully as have me, over the last 4 years. It has been my honor and pleasure being your Commander”~Jen Dalrymple

Jen Dalrymple and Craig Hemsworth being presented with the award for 100% membership retention by District Commander Linda Cousineau.

Chris Wright is looking forward to taking over as the Commander with a fresh outlook for the future and plans to upgrade the bar to match the beauty and warmth of the new banquet hall. He feels as if the community deserves to be included in new events such as periodic movie nights for a small flat fee where the Legion would offer a concession stand and popcorn, the ability to rent out the hall for meetings, birthday parties and crafting events, and Sunday brunch with bottomless mimosas. He also spoke about continuing opportunities for student essay grants, fundraising events and his desire for helping the community with a donation to the Townsend community pool to get it up and running for the 2021 summer season.

All the Officers, former and current would love for the people of Townsend or summer travelers to pop in and say hi, check out the new digs and order a yummy drink.
